The Mission of Independence Mission Schools is to provide a transformative Catholic education that develops students intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually and that provides children of all faiths across the City of Philadelphia with the opportunity to learn in an academically rigorous environment and to grow in a culture of love, setting them on the path to a promising future.

Recent News
As the season builds momentum, St. Malachy’s PYB team is gearing up for action. Current games are slated for Saturday mornings at 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., hosted at the Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center in Nicetown—a state-of-the-art PYB facility with seven courts, classrooms, and wellness resources.

A calming space where students can take a moment to reset, regulate their emotions, and return to class ready to learn. Support includes materials and tools that promote mindfulness and emotional well-being.
Providing tuition assistance for families in need. This support ensures that all students, regardless of financial circumstances, can access a high-quality education and participate fully in school life.
Our program gives students a well-rounded foundation in musical skills and performance. It blends instruction, practice, and enrichment to help students grow both technically and artistically.
Our summer enrichment program gives students opportunities to continue developing academically and socially. They help prevent learning loss, support students who need extra practice, and offer new experiences that broaden their horizons.
